Description - Garbo Off-white Armchair

Two eras in one armchair

It is named after a famous Swedish film star of the inter-war period. And it is true that the Garbo armchair is reminiscent of the Art Deco furniture of the 1920s and 1940s. The velvet that covers it and its black metal base were, in fact, very popular materials at the time.

However, Garbo also has a family resemblance with what came later, in the 1970s. Mireille Darc could perfectly have curled up in the hollow of the round shell of this pretty armchair.
